Really fascinating new study from the great folks at Pew onTeens, Cruelty, Cyberbullying, & Social Networking.

We see a lot of the same “hyper personalized”, almost too nice discursive elements from email research showing up in social network systems. Basically, students say that they’re nicer to others online than they are F2F. We saw this in our TICA work when

It is interesting to note initially in the study that they showcase that students are “mostly kind” to each other online. I think this may be more of a societal, or cultural way that we view how our actions, interactions, and dialogue should be framed as we communicate online.
